Alternate State Field names in Dimensions

Hi

I am trying to use the alternate state extension and have an issue. In theory the alternate states work, allowing me to make two different selections on the same list. However, I would like to then create a Venn diagram off the back off this data, and in the dimensions I dont want to selct the list name as the dimension but the alternate state name instead...what is the qliksense syntax for this?

the list name is IDENTITY and the alternate state names as PS1 and ps2
