Is there a way to prevent a user of an app from using the search functionality? I have an app that contains data that I do not want users to see but I need the data for the visualizations.
Hey Ryan,
You can exclude fields from the Smart Search function in the load script using the Search command. Here's the documentation for it: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.0/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Scripting/ScriptRegularStatements/Searc...
Your question confuses me. Help me out here:
If that data is used in visualizations, your user will see that data anyway, right? So what would be the use of not make it searchable so to prevent it from showing if you are showing it anyway?
Disable Show Selection indicators and right click sheet properties -> Security -> untick all
Hope this helps you

Thanks for that pointer. I see a good use case for that and expect I will be exploiting it in the near future.
This appears to be how to disable search in Qlikview. I am using Qlik Sense Server. Thanks.
Thanks! I think this will do it.
