The QlikView AccessPoint is slow to load its document list (stuck in "Loading Content" for a very long time). This might also result in no document be shown.

What should only take a few seconds, takes minutes to load. Document lists range from large to small.

Environment:

QlikView server, any

Resolution:

Resource allocation

Verify that the QlikView server services have sufficient CPU or memory capacity to return the document list to the AccessPoint.
If a cluster is used, it may be possible to get better performance by load balancing the document list retrieval. See QlikView - How to enable load balancing when opening the AccessPoint to load the list of document

Items in root or mounted folders

Review the mounted folder and root folders for unnecessary files. See Slow AccessPoint loading times and Management Console performance

Update network drivers

Network card (NIC) drivers may require updating.

Configure the QlikView Webserver / Settings Service config.xml file to increase the document list cache period.

  • Stop the service.
  • Open the config.xml file (C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\WebServer\config.xml)
  • Add or modify the following keys:
  <ClearCachePeriod>600000</ClearCachePeriod>
  <ForceDocListUpdateOnPageLoad>False</ForceDocListUpdateOnPageLoad>

If ForceDocListUpdateOnPageLoad is Falsethe webserver will always use cached data.
