How does audit logging affect the server performance?

Hi everyone

Are you familiar with how activating the audit logging will affect the server performance (both audit logging and extensive audit logging)?

We have a server (not very powerful) that functions ok, but every time we activate the audit logging, the performance will be degraded!

kind regards

Hi Aliazizi,

By enabling only audit logging and Medium in Event log will not be any problem with performance in server. By enabling with Extensive audit logging will impact on performance with server.

But give 5 minutes in enable performance logging

Thanks

Hi Avinash

Thank you for your reply. In this case the Event Log Verbosity is set to be High. Extensive audit logging is not activated but only audit logging. Performance logging already is set to 5 min.

The performance degradation was obviouse about two weeks after the audit logging was activated. This server has 32 GB RAM and 12 CPU cores. Both QlikView server and Publisher are running on the same server. There are about 60 concurrent users as average on the server.

In this condition don't you think that audit logging can impact the server performance?
