Problem setting QV license

Hello everyone,

Hopefully someone will be able to help me.

We are setting up a server in order to test NPrinting, and for this, we have obtained a temporary QV license good until the end of the month.

At first, we configured the QV license under the installer's user, but then realized that it had to be installed under the NPrinting Service's user for the Engine to start.

I uninstalled QlikView, deleted all QlikView directories under the c:\ drive, eliminated all LEF references under the users AppData folders, erased manually all references to QlikView in the registry, rebooted the server, then reinstalled QV under the NPrinting Service account.

An now, this is what I get:

If I paste the LEF file content here, I get the following message:

The license key specified in the License Enabler File does not match your license key.

If I click on the Contact License Enabler Service button, it fails as so

Any ideas?

  9. QlikView Desktop client contacts a license server to validate the license number and control number.
  10. If license server can not be reached the license can be applied with a License Enable Filer (LEF). Go to step <ENTER NUMBER> for more details.
  11. Successful license validation is indicated
    User-added image
  12. Click Continue to close the license dialog.
  13. Click OK to close the User Preferences
  14. Close and reopen the QlikView Desktop Client for the license to apply.

NOTE: The QlikView license server are currently located at http://lef1.qliktech.com/ and http://lef2.qliktech.com/. The licensed client will connect to the license server annually to re-validate the valid license, unless a new license number has been applied.

I forgot to mention that the server is indeed connected to the internet

Hello Philippe,

From reading your description it seems that you are trying to apply a QlikView Server license to QlikView Desktop. Is this accurate? If so, this won't work. You'll need to either apply a stand-alone, QlikView Desktop license or lease a license from the QlikView Server.

Hi Chip,

The Licence is of "QlikView Local Client" type

Cheers,

Philippe

What puzzles me the most is that the original screen that should allow me to enter the license and control numbers does not appear, and I can't find a reason why...
