Question about the use of charts made by personal edition

Hi,

Im using Qlikview personal edition. I was wondering can i use the charts created with personal edition in a report that will be sent to our customer. The charts would be copied to a word -sheet?

no,it's not.

You can copy your chart as image to paste in Word

u can try this way, and from chart click on that image --open word --paste it.

Officially. i think so no..vendor won't allows to do.

Having read the below I would say yes yuo can, but I am not  legal expert or Qlik Employee.

You can share output you get from Personal Edition as long as the software itself is not used by anyone else than the one installing the Personal Edition.

So prints, outputs in the form of exports etc is perfectly OK to share without violating the license. Circumventing the Personal Edition and allowing many people to access the same installation will be a violation of the license terms.

Actually I looked more closely on the license agreement of the Personal Edition and it states that contrary to what I believed:

2.1.

License Grant. Subject to the terms and conditions of this PELA, QlikTech grants to the User a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable and non-transferable license to install and use, solely for the internal business operations of User, the Personal Edition Software with which this license is distributed, including any printed documentation or documentation files published by QlikTech and accompanying the Personal Edition Software (the “Documentation”).

2.2.

License Restrictions. Except as otherwise expressly permitted in this PELA, User will not, directly or through others including, without limitation, Users: use, copy, maintain, distribute, sell, transfer, market, sublicense, dispose of or rent the Personal Edition Software; (ii) reverse assemble, reverse compile, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer (except to the extent any such restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law) or attempt to derive the source code for any of the Personal Edition Software; (iii) modify, adapt, create derivative works, translate, or open QlikView Applications created by other users or perform an import of an entire layout from an xml file or port any of the Personal Edition Software or combine or merge any part of the Personal Edition Software with or into any other software or documentation; (iv) offer, use, sublicense or otherwise commercially exploit any of the Personal Edition Software as a revenue-generating product or service to any third party, including without limitation for third party training, nor may it use the Personal Edition Software to provide hosting service bureau, commercial time-sharing, rental, or software as a service (SaaS) services to third parties who are not Users for the purposes of providing those persons or entities with use of the Personal Edition Software; (v) permit the use of the Personal Edition Software or Documentation by third parties; or (vi) reproduce the Personal Edition Software or Documentation without QlikTech’s copyright and trademark notices. Without limiting any of the foregoing, if a serial number, password, license key or other security device is provided to the User for use with the Personal Edition Software, the User may not share or transfer such security device with or to any other user of the Personal Edition Software or any other third party. Any other use of the Personal Edition Software by any third party, except as provided in this PELA, is strictly forbidden and is a breach of this PELA.
