Session calls have a minimum session time of 15 minutes. The maximum length can be configured in the QMC. QMC --> System --> QlikView Servers --> Performance.
If you are using a session cal then you won't use a usage cal. If the number of session cals your system has are all in use, but usage cals are available then a usage cal will be used.
