shared session hangs

Hi All,

Has anyone experienced this?

We have just recently installed QV and testing this feature for rollout.

Majority of the time when we click on share session for the first time, it will work then when navigating on the form, the session will hand and so we will have to close the browser.

so for the second time, when we try to click the Share Session for the same workbook, the popup window does not open up to reveal the link.

Anybody having this issue or know how to resolve it?

Support said i have to go down 1 version to SR3 but I dont want to do that since SR4 release notes said that it actually fixed a lot of performance issues and i dont have time to retest everything.

What i did was restart services to clear all hanging sessions then i tweaked CPU affinitly. I also unchecked "Allow Only One Copy of Document in Memory" hoping it helps. Reduced Timeout settings hoping that it releases any future locked sessions sooner.

So far no more hanging sessions but i do have more "reconnecting" sessions, possibly because i have more users now than before.

I’m trying to test session collaboration and the connection just hangs once I get connected to another user. That restart does clear the sessions.

Was it this the same issue you were having?

ours hangs intermittently. not all the time. And we couldnt figure out which user and why because it doesnt happen to the same person all the time. let us know if you find a solution.

so far though we have been clear of hangings.

i have been telling people to constantly close their sessions all the time just in case its a hanging session

I had the same issue. Could not share a session (Could click on the Start Sharing button but nothing happened)

In QMC > Status > QVS Statistics I had a number of supposedly active sessions. However if I looked in the Server Performance log there where no active sessions. So I restarted the QVS and could then share a session.

I was running QVS11.2 SR4 which I have now upgraded to SR5 so will wait and see if the issue reoccurs.

I have the same problem in QVS 11.2 SR5. I'm waiting for support.

It has just happened to me on SR5 now. I don't really want to go back to SR3 as I have some users with IE11.

I will also log it with Support.

I have just encountered a very similar problem using v11.2 SR5 (11.20.12235)

Hi Peter,

I upgraded the Server to SR6 and since then nobody has reported the issue.
