t's just an option we have, instead of using an external source of data.

Maybe this thread explains it better.

Hi,

If the values you are going to input does not change then u can use inline.

However, if the data needs to be updated on a Daily/Weekly/Monthly basis, you cannot expect the user to update it in the QVW file. Hence you can use excel file placed in a shared path where users can directly update it.

Thanks!

Hi,

It's one of load type in qlikvivew. in some situation you wanted to use data island/small set of data directly/quickly typing or pasting it into qlikview instead of using other source (Databse, excel, flat file, other source etc)

P.S: This inline load just like xl utility in edit script.

for more details check this,

Thanks, Deva

Inline tables are used to add additional data to Qlikview apart from the normal data from flat files or DB's . It acts to similar to the load from excel file , you could load this kind of data from excel / qlikview inline,  advantage of inline is for this additional data you no need to worry on maintaining the excel file .....if the values are more then we would prefer excel rather than inline so that it would be easy to make the changes and you need to login to QV to make the inline data changes ..

Hi Akheelaf,

inline load is one option for us  to load data within the script.

Ex:-

if you want to do some simple mapping with new data better to use inline load.
