Active directory and Search for User

Hello,

I am having some trouble with the "Search for User".

I go to the QMC (QVS V11.20) >> Users tab >> User Management and I search for an user : I can't find LDAP users, only local users can be found.

This worked very well sometines ago...

Can someone help me?

I'm not sure what else to suggest, sorry. Might need to log a call with Qlik if no-one else can suggest anything.

Hi Sara,

If I understand correctly, this is your DSC configuration :

  • 3 Active Directory
  • 1 Local Directory

You have an issue because you can't find any user of any Active Directory.

No DSC error logs.

Your QlikView Server configuration has not changed.

I have some questions :

  • Your QlikView Server in witch AD is in?
  • QlikView Server service running with AD user of witch of 3?
  • You have separated AD or there are some "trusting of AD"?
  • All AD users belong at most only 1 AD or there are "cross" situation?
  • You have asked to AD administrator if they applied and changes?
  • The users configured to login in AD in DSC still have permission, grant, to list all user (AD side)?

Regards,

Ely Malki

Hi Ely

  • Your QlikView Server in witch AD is in?

How can I know that?

  • QlikView Server service running with AD user of witch of 3?

See next question

  • You have separated AD or there are some "trusting of AD"?

See next question

  • All AD users belong at most only 1 AD or there are "cross" situation?

AD are separated on 3 distinct servers and there are all replicated. For example If a change is made on a user on AD1, the change is replicated on AD2 and AD3.

So all AD users belong all AD.

So Qlikview Server service runs with AD user which belongs the 3 ADs.

  • You have asked to AD administrator if they applied and changes?

Yes I have and no change have been made.

  • The users configured to login in AD in DSC still have permission, grant, to list all user (AD side)?

The user configured to login in AD in DSC can only read AD.

Do you get the same name resolution problems with just one AD connected? Might be worth testing each of the three individually to see if one of them is the issue.

Do you need to have three ADs connected if they all have the same replicated data? Is this recommended by Qlik, they or a Qlik partner might be able to advise.

I don't know why there are three ADs connected.

I'm new in my enterprise and Qlikview server was already installed and configured.

I will try to connect just one AD, hoping that this won't have a bad impact...

But in QMC, in Users tab >> User Management, I can select the Directories to search.

And I select the three individually and none of the three works.
