Hi Team,
The question is how to find out unused columns in qvw. This means the column has not been used by any chart, code, etc.
There is a third party tool called Document Analyzer. The customer is using that to analyze the used and unused columns. They are also wondering if Qlik has any way to find out unused columns in qvw as well. So they can remove those unused columns.

You seem to have answered your own question. The best way to find unused fields in a Qlikview document is Document Analyzer. Then either add the Drop Field statements that Document Analyzer proposes, or use the Analyzer output to amend your script to avoid loading theses fields altogether. Or have I not fully understood your question?
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for the information. They are actually looking for the solution delivered by Qlik.
Kind Regards
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
There is no specific tool from Qlik itself, but Document Analyzer is used widely. But be careful to read the comments before doing it.
"Do not use this DROP Field list without reviewing the contents!
There are some cases where fields actually in use may appear on the list!"
So though the tool recommends, you need to carefully review and the follow.
Thanks.
Siva
There is no official Qlik tool. Rob Wunderlich worked closely with Qlik when building the analyzer, and it has been thoroughly tested here on the community and, by now, mature and stable.
