App scheduling without Server

Dear Community,

Can we schedule/reload the app without using server?

Can we send an app with more than 200MB size in mail?

Thanks for your reply.

Regards.

Sridhar.

  1. Yes, you can using Windows Task Scheduler and a single QV Desktop (local) license
  2. I guess not but that depends entirely on your mail system. 200MB is a lot to post in someones mailbox. Better do it by way of a mailing serivce like WeTransfer.com.

Best,

Peter

Nowadays they call them CMD files, but yes, you'll be using a batch file.

The QlikView Desktop can be used as a reload engine from the command line (options /r and /p if I remember correctly). See the QlikView Reference manual for more details (Chapter 7 - Starting QlikView)

A server is always better to automate and manage reload and distribution tasks. A small business edition-server combines everything with a simple interface, and carries a reasonable price.
