I posted this reply in the thread Manish mentioned - it's just as appropriate here though so here it is verbatim.

Must confess I'm curious as to why so many of you would want someone else's CV - surely you're not all recruiting? If you were I'm sure you'd want responses from many different people rather than just one generic 'QlikView developer'?

The alternative is that perhaps you want to use the CV as the basis of your own, which strikes me as a little counter productive. Surely the whole point of a CV is that it's about YOU not someone else. You have your own background and experience which is likely to be considerably different to that of a generic 'QlikView developer', if there even is such a thing. I can only imagine the confusion created when recruiters around the world get a bunch of very similar CV's landing on their desk when they advertise a QlikView job.

If this is the case then I'm thinking you're probably not much of an original thinker, and so perhaps you should be in another job market - accountancy maybe, where your ability to follow the herd would be better appreciated.

Hi, Marcus.

I agree with your post. Those people who have requested a resume should be aware that recruiters do look on this forum to see if the candidate contributes to the forum and what kind of questions they ask or answer.

I have been recruiting recently and have received identical CVs appearing in my mail box. After looking on Qlik Community I have discovered some of these CVs have been copied, the personal details changed and then sent on to me as part of an application.

I have had no choice but to ignore these CVs as not being a genuine reflection of the candidates abilities.

Thanks,

MW
