Hi,

As Sunil mentions, prior to the lease, you need to assign a license to the user in the form DOMAIN\USERNAME, and check that the Server allows to lease licenses, in the QEMC, System, Setup, Licenses, QlikView Server, on the right side.

Make sure that communication between client and server has inbound and outbound 4747 port allowed so the Server can send the information of the license once this has been assigned.

Hope that helps.

Hi Miguel,

Yes, I have assigned CAL to that uesr.

How can check client and server has inbound and outbound 4747 port ? I mean in which file?

Anta,

Ports 4747 and 4774 should be open in the Windows or any other firewall software, and depending on the type of the network, you may need to open them in some other middle proxies between clients and Server, it's not in any other configuration file since these are the default ports QlikView Server uses to communicate uing the QVP protocol (with clients).

Hi Miguel,

My question is how can I check that these ports are open or not ?

IF they are open but still I am facing the problem then what will be the reason?

Hi Anta,

You will need to take a look at the Windows Firewall or any other security application your computers might be running, and you will likely need the help from some IT people in that regard.

If ports are open, check from a different computer. Make sure that the QEMC is configured to allow license leasing and that the user is able to get to the server. And of course, that there are available licenses to be leased.

Hope that helps.

HI Anta,

If QlikView is showing that message it's because it's not actually leasing a license from the Server, or either the license in the Server has expired, so leasing is no longer possible. Go to the QEMC, System, Licenses, QlikView Server, QlikView Server License, and on the LEF part that there is not a line like

ALLOW_LICENSE_LEASE;;NO;

I'd strongly suggest that, after all this time without being able to lease a license, open a support case in support@qlik.com sending as much information as possible regarding your issue, your Server, clients, and so.

Hope that helps.
