Chart Line Style

Hi all...

I want to create a line graph where sales is a solid line and gross profit is a dashed...

So far (from looking at the forum) I have...

Forum.jpg

I am getting the dash line by adding the following expression to the line style (why they don't just have an option I don't know)...

'<S3>'

This however, is not changing the legend which is still showing as a solid line.

Any ideas on how do I also change the legend?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards

Paul

No ideas!!!

But to solve ur Purpose...U can use  Line/Arrow Object and use it as ur legend.

In Line/Arrow object U can Change ur Line style and arow Style and make it look like the Dotted line as u r using in ur chart.

Pkelly,

Yes, i have also tried your scenario but noluck, not able to find  any option make the legend as dotted lines (as far as i know its not possible).

But one work around would be setting 'symbols' for dotted line may differentiate you gross profit and solid line.

Check this attached application.

Hi Erika

This works great for the report on screen.

Only downside is that there is a bug in QlikView which prevents you adding Line/Arrow objects to reports via the report editor.

I have had to go with the symbol approach although I have now found a further issue with the report editor and line charts in that, it doesn't matter how thick you make the lines on your chart, they appear as thin lines on the report.

Thanks for your help on this...

This log is a little old but the answer I beleive you need is :

Set the chart type as a combo chart then have the actual as one expression and the budget as the second.

Select the + icon on the expression (Top left hand box on the expression tab). Drill down to the expression properties then click on line style - then type in ='<S2>' in the definition box. See screen grab attached. line_style.JPG

Hope this helps
