Clear one Field from another with different alternate states

Hi,

Please refer to the QV i am attaching.

I want that when i change one multibox(eff_month in the example attached), the other multibox (MO_NM in the example attached) should clear. Both are in different alternate states. if i set an action to clear the field <on change> on eff_month, i am unable to select anything from MO_NM again.
