Hi
In the attached data model I have two fact tables - PLCFacts and SLRFacts, and a dimension DIMFinancialPeriod.
I have split the fact tables as they are unrelated but both fact tables will use other common dimensions, like DIMFinancialPeriod.
Is this valid design or can you recommend a better solution?
Thanks
Better solution and a learning, download the pdf from: Re: Multiple fact tables
if you have mixed dimensions granularity you can read here
or here

regarding fact tables (concatenate vs link) read tresesco link or

thanks for the info and help.
Based on the design i have shown what is the option i should be going for - is it concatenate or link table?
Hi, not always you have to use one or other solution, it depens of the case and depends of the realitiy you want to show in the document.
it depends on the case, you will have to use concatenation or link table
THERE IS NOT A FORMULA OR CONDITION THAT YOU HAVE TO USE ONE OR OTHER
good luck
