Hi,

Text: it's mainly used to add information (i.e: as text, picture) to the qlik app and also you can perform the calculations.

Button: used to execute different kind of actions (ran macros, clear selection, bookmark, external etc)

diff. very few, example in text box have below which are not in button

1) you can set scrollbar

2) you can stretch the image (fill, keep aspect, fill with aspect etc)

3) Print caption option

also check this,

Hi

Button:

 Buttons can be used to execute various commands in QlikView. QlikView allows us to execute an action, or a sequence of actions, when a button is clicked.

 While creating the button, there are a wide variety of actions that can be assigned to it. These actions can also be chained, so that one click on a button triggers a sequence of actions.

 You have the choice between a Plain background, Aqua, which gives the button a glassy look, and Image.

Text Object:

 Text objects are used for adding information to a QlikView document.

 They can be used to show text information or an image in the layout.

 They can be moved and positioned anywhere on a sheet, just like any other sheet object.

 Text objects can also be used effectively for displaying the results of calculations, and to create backgrounds.

Hope it is clear now
