Hello,
I am just wondering on what QV considers to be a BIG application.
So, what is your largest app you published to users?
My biggest app currently holds ~ 10 million rows in the main fact table.
It is 120 MB on disk, and 700 MB in RAM.
Is this big, average, or 'peanuts'?
Thanks for sharing experiences,
Thilo
Hello,
This question really depends on the quantity of informations you want to display, and if they are really well optimized.
What can be useful is to use Qlikview analyzer document ( see the Rob Wunderlich site) which will allow you to reference the non used fields in an application.
More generally 120 MB application size doesn't surprise me really, I heard about GB sized documents without any problems.
Rgds,
Sébastien
Hello Sébastien,
my question was meant as simple as it is: What is a BIG document size.
I heard of huge documents as well ... from our Sales Rep
.
I know that the overall behaviour depends also on the used formulas, the server capacity, etc etc.
With complex enough formulas/ expressions small data can knock out the server.
So 'performance' is a hardly comparable topic, esp. as performance is also influenced by user's experience and expectation.
That's why I was wondering about something comparable, which is (probably) the document size (on disk and in memory).
Thanks for the hint to the analyzer document.
Thilo
