Document is 14MB on disk but consumes over 700MB on open

I have a QlikView desktop document that users have had trouble opening. When copied to a local shared server the .qvw document takes only 14MB on disk but takes a long time to open (using version 8.50) and consumes about 716MB at times while opening. After opening, the QV.exe program looks like it is taking 124MB. Does anyone have any idea why it would be taking so much memory when it is opening? The tables in the document don't look unusual. The largest of them is about 300,000 rows. This is not an issue with loading data; just opening an existing document.    Thanks for any ideas.

For anyone interested:  my estimate of the required memory at open of 716MB must have been off because this document causes big errors for some of our users who use a 32-bit Citrix access method. The big memory consumption has been traced to a straight table chart with expressions that consume an enormous amount of memory (some nested aggregation and if statements).
