Draw straight line

how do i draw a straight line?

I like the look of some of the demo apps and am trying to replicate some of the features, such as the dotted lines between charts. How can I acheive this look? (The lines below may appear faint in the screenshot below from one of the demo apps)

Use line/arrow objects and give them a transparant background color or even use transparant text boxes with a non transparant border.
