Duplicate object when published

Recently, I noticed something weird happening when I publish a document to the access point. On one of the tabs, one object will be duplicated, with the new object minimized on the bottom of the screen. I check the original file, and the object is not there, but for some reason, it's there when it gets published.

Anyone else experience this, and know a way to stop it from happening?

Yes, we have experienced similar issues like this.  Sometimes an object gets duplicated several times.  We don't know where it is coming from.  It is not in the original document, and the end user cannot get to the properties when using the IE Plugin.  So, it is not an object that they created.

However, if they remove these objects from the IE version, when they log out and then log back in to the same document, these objects no longer appear.

Seems like this started happening when we went from QV10 SR2 to SR3.  We are currently on SR4 and it occasionally still happens.

Thanks,

Dan

Any one found solution to it.  I have five copies of same objects which is visible to all users and they don't have access to create objects.  Also can't find it in server object list in QEMC.

I other case, some user can see two copies and I can only see one - original.  Very strange.  This has now started impacting performance as ghot copy stays open and when user clicks that tabs, it's take very long time due to very large table with no selection.

Thanks, Shelvin

No solution other than having the end user right-click and remove these objects.  If you have an example for QlikTech support, it would be a good idea to notify them.  Maybe they can fix this bug.

We don't know which user may have done it and it's very unlikely as 'Allow server objects' on Sheet security is disable so no one can add, even I can't add via Accesspoint despite being administrator.  The only differrence is that I can get 'Remove' option when I right click on chart and then gets below message.

"The object is linked to other objects.  Do you want to delete only the selected or all linked together?"

Option: Delete selected, Delete All, Cancel

Tried both options but nothing is working.  Qliktech has changed their policy and doesn't let us log a call directly as being end client which they used to allow us until few months ago.

Thanks, Shelvin

Hi Dan,

Made progress little further using PowerTool.  I have copied the same file with different name and opened via AccessPoint and all those ambiguous objects disappeared in new file due to new .shared file created.  I have then opened both shared file via QVSharedFileViewer and can see those objects in old file which I couldn't see in QEMC.  I tried using ServerObjectHandler to delete them but it only lists the objects which I can view from QEMC so no good.  And I can't delete existing shared file because there are quite important bookmarks users have created and shared, it will be painful to convince them.

I have passed details to reseller to escalate with QlikTech.  Let's see.

Thanks, Shelvin

Shelvin,

Thanks for the update. Hopefully, Qliktech will have a fix for this issue by the time I upgrade to version 11 this fall.

I have now found the way to delete selected lines from .shared file.  See below article.
