Hi Nihhal,

If you are using macros then you have to chose

System Access --- Macros only run in this mode.

Current Local Security -- Macros run only Allow System Access

From QV Help file:

Requested Module SecurityBy selecting Safe Mode the document designer indicates that the macros in this QlikView document contain no code that can access either the system or applications outside QlikView. If such code is encountered during macro execution in a document declared to be in Safe Mode, the execution will fail.
By selecting System Access mode the document designer ensures that the end user will be prompted when opening the document to either approve system access (Allow System Access), disable all macros in the document (Disable Macros) or allow only macros without system access (Safe Mode).
Current Local SecurityWhen opening a document declared to be in safe mode but containing potentially "unsafe" macro code, the user will be prompted (see Requested Module Security above). The user's action will be remembered by the system but this setting can be changed at a later time from this menu. Macro security level can be set to Don't Run at All, Only Safe Mode or Allow System Access.

Jagan.

Thanks Jagan,

If macro run only these options, why are they other options? what will happen if we use those options?

I never used macro so just eager to understand. Could you please share example for other option (i mean what will happen if i use).

Moreover i have read help there is a just definition, no example.

I think to run macro we need full system access, if you do not want your application to use macros select the other options.

Hi Jagan - As per my understood.

Requested Module Security:

1. Safe Mode - Macro will not execute while running QV application but we can this individually i mean by button (run macro)

2. System Access - Macro will execute while running QV application.

Current Local Security:

1. Only Safe Mode - Macro will not execute while running QV application but we can this individually i mean by button (run macro)

2. Allow System Access - Macro will execute while running QV application.

3. Don't Run at All - Nerver Run

Can you share your comments on this?

Actually i confused with "What is different between "Requested Module Security" and "Current Local Security".

Thanks,

Nihhal.

I think to run a macro we need system access, even in Excel when you open a file with macro it requests the same.  To override this popup we have to do this settings I think in Qlikview.
