Effect of Group By On Qlikview Performance

HI,

I have an application which loads millions and millions of data.

So to check i Happened to run a Limited Load of 2 rows with Group By Clause for which it took 23 Mins

whereas a Load without the Group By Statement Loads 10 Records in few mins.

So would like to know if the Group by clause causes the slow down of Loading in Qlikview.

Please suggest if there is an alternative to this issue

Hi,

This group by is in a Resident Table or in a external table? Maybe the "problem" is outside Qlik.

its not a resident load its a load from QVD

Well, then when you load a QVD not in optimized way, it takes more time and if you make this type of operations is normal that takes much more time.
