Eliminate searching all fields in all list boxes with ">>" button

Is there a way to get rid of the double arrow button shown here?

It is my understanding that when I click that button, all fields will be searched for the string "a". So basically, I will lock the system for 1-3 minutes every time that button is accidentally pressed.

I thought removing the search option from the caption tab  in the list  box properties would do the trick, but it does not. I can still search by selecting the list box and typing (which I NEED to be able to do), but I also get that troublesome >> symbol that can lock up the system.

Thanks

That chevron button is the Associated Search feature. I don't know of a way to turn that off. But...in listbox Properties, General is a "More Search Settings" button. There you can limit what fields are included in Associated Search. That should address your performance issue.

Thanks Rob.

I was able to go into the "More Search Settings" and use a "list of fields" but kept the list blank.
This eliminated the power of the chevron ">>" so it does not take any resources

It's NOT necessary to change the Default Search Option to "Associative Search". I did that earlier and it was throwing me off, since I lost the ability to do a fuzzy search.
