Event Based Automated Reminder Mail

Please help me to do the following....

I have some Due dates related to Banking Data on which i have to make payments,I want to receive an Automated Reminder Mail before specified days (e.g. 3 Days) of respective Due Dates whenever the payment becomes Due.
