Excel Add-in

Hi All,

We are in the process of building the new BI platform using Qlik.
Users are very familiar with Hyperion Excel Add-in and demanding similar functionality to extract data from Qlik using excel.
I did some research and found QVExcel but need Excel 2010 or earlier in order to use the product.

Any other alternative to deliver similar functionality?

Hi Jinu,

  As I know, QVExcel was discontinued, so if you need to generate reports with Excel I recommend Nprinting.

Isn't the whole idea to move from XLS to Qlik instead of the other way around?

As your users what they are doing in excel. Common answers will be:

- "combine data" --> Do that in Qlik

- "make chart abc" --> Do that in Qlik

- "do analysis" --> Ask which and build appropriate dashboard

In the end, the amount of time you can save them that they are wasting exporting stuff to excel could pay the licenses and consulting needed for Qlik.
