I am getting an error message opening a file I created at work with my licensed QV:

I have never worked with on this file with PE (which I have at home). In the community, someone suggested
deleted the -prj folder, but I don't see any such folder in the directory.
Is there another workaround for this? It's quite annoying!
If your QlikView desktop application is licensed, you shouldn't see the message at all, regardless the origin of the file.
Are you leasing licenses from a server? Maybe you just need to reconnect to the server and refresh your license.
This is the second time in two days. I have a fully licensed version on my desktop, and we have another fully licensed server version. I have never had to renew my license before, and I don't know that anything changed.
I'm going to hope someone has an answer here, else I'll have to open a case with support. Thanks.
When you open the start page in the desktop client, then click on 'License information', what is displayed?
Nothing to worry about. This has nothing to do with your document, only with your QV Desktop occasionally forgetting that it has leased a license. In QV Desktop->Start page, click the License Information link. The overview will tell you whether you are currently using a license from your server or whether you are running QV Desktop in PE mode. In case you end up in PE mode, use File->Open in server to re-lease your license.
If this only happened during the last two days and never before, then something did change. Maybe your QV server Administrator can shed some light on this.
I just noticed - when I open my QV, it says "Qlikview x64 Personal Edition". I don't recall seeing that before. I have a separate version on a machine we use to run all our nPrinting schedules, and when it opens, it says "QlikView x64".
How can my version have 'downgraded' itself from a fully licensed version to PE?! Also, when I go to the "License Update", I get a message the checksum is invalid, and when I try to contact the license server, it tells me to contact support.
Has my system somehow become corrupted?
Not likely.
Let's start from the beginning: where did you get your original license from? There are only so many possibilities: either from your (companies) QlikView Server as a lease on a Named CAL, or as a local license installed on your desktop (which should reflect in the license update screen)
Your QV Desktop software doesn't downgrade, it's still the same software. The license however can escape and run off... You'll have to catch it again ![]()
