Filtering data from the begining

Hello,

After few years using Tableau, I'm testing Qlikview.

I have an stupid problem I I don't know how to solve it:

I have a data source from I want to remove (exclude) some data (for example, 4 user names) and the users that were created in the past (on 2008 and 2009).

I have created a Multibox, where I select the 4 names that I don't want to use and I click on 'Select Excluded'.

For the years I do something similar: I create a Multibox, with the value Year(DateOfRegister). I select the 2008 and 2009 and then I click on 'Select Excluded'.

First problem: when I reload the data, with new values, these new values are included directly on 'NOT values' in the 'Current Selection' box. How could I exclude 4 values without select 'Select Excluded'?

Second problem: when I exclude 2008 and 2009, the 'Current Selection' box don't show NOT 2008, 2009, the box inform that 2010 and 2011 are marked!!! I want to exclude, not mark the inverted selection!!!

Thank and regards.

Hi

Welcome  to QV !

- you can exclude directly in the script using a where condition :

   Load  UserName , Year , C

FROM  yourDataSource

Where Username <> 'A'  AND  Year >= 2010 ;

- you can also exclude in the chart using if or Set Analysis

example to get the revenue for all the consumer except A and from year <2010

  dimension :    Product

expression  :  = SUM (    if(  Name <> 'A' AND Year >= 2010 ,  Revenue)  )

Hi JJ,

I prefer the first option, because using conditions as 'If', I need to include in all the graph.

...but, you know if are there any other possibility to filter using condition 'NOT' as can be used on Tableau or Excel? I can't understand how this software has not considered to implet this option...

Regards.

Hi

I know it's annoying to don't have a NOT selection.

Another way it's to create a flag in the script and the to use in a list box or in set analysis.

Load *  ; if  (  yourcondition ,  'Cond' , 'Not Cond') as Flag_Cond
