Formatting of data from load

Hi, please if someone can assist, I hope this is simple mistake on my side 🙂

I have a dimension/lookup table that contains a bunch of org codes and their descriptions.

I use this to link my raw data which only contains the org codes to their associated descriptions.

now my question:

I have 2 values in their that for the love of life keeps merging into single item (our currency in SA is Rand or R for short)

my one value is 07 and other is R7 - both come into model as 07 (even after formatting them all as text too.

any suggestions how to rectify this?

any help appreciated

Thanks

K

See example the 2 highlighted fields should not have merged to only show one value 07

it should have 2 distinct values one for 07 and one for R7 both as seperate codes...

Organisation codeDepartment name
07Department of Social Development
95National Department of Correctional Services
9KKZN Prov Gov: Public Works
Q9Independent Complaints Directorate
R4Limpopo Province:Legislature
R7Department Communications
S7Northern Cape: Provincial Legislature
S8Public Admin Leadership and Management Academy

Hello K,

without any example data it is nearly impossible to give any suggestion. Are you able to post an example app? Even from a personal edition.

Hi,

You query is not clear.

what i under stand is

u have R from field and 07 from other and its combining as R7..

if this is the case then

R & num(07,'00')

you can replace R and 07 with field names.

'00' is the formatting and num is the function

Sorry a little confused...

You said it should be two different 07 and R7...

I see it in your image as two different

07 as Department of Social Development

R7 as Department Communications

Hi Deepak, this is before loading into QV

inside QV, only 07 and "

Department of Social Development
"

comes through with table viewer showing 272/273 for subset ratio from this dimension to the employee fact table
