Hashxxx() Functions

Hi,

Does anyone know what algorthmn the built in hashxxx() functions use? Are they QlikView propriety functions or are they based on a more commonly used algorithm?

I would like to know because I need to create a hashed key as part of an embedded URL and so the web application at the other end would need to be able to apply the same hash function to validate the URL request.

Thanks,

Azam

I've been in touch with QlikView support and they have confirmed that the functions are propriety functions, so it would not be possible to share a hashed key between QlikView and another application.

Hey Azam,

is it possible to use standard hashing algorithms in Qlik Sense?

I need for example SHA-256 for calculating user IDs.

Probably there are some libraries that I can include and use in Qlik Sense...

Hi Georg,

Sorry, I don't use Qlik Sense, so I don't have an answer for that...

Maybe you can start a new thread and see if that gets more reposnses.

Best wishes,

Azam
