How to Use Search Object

Hi,

I am very new to Qlikview and need help from you guys..

I am tryig to create a data Dictionary in Qlikview and would like to use it like "google". As in, if we want to search any data..we would simply type in the data in the searchbox and all the corrosponding values of that data will appear in a table below. I have all the data in excel and have already loaded that in Qlikview.

Now I am lost what to do after this.

Please Help.!

Cheers..

Paul..

Paul,

Just go to any empty space in your sheet (or create a new sheet), right click and select "New Sheet Object", "Search Object". The object properties dialog will show up, make sure Search in "All Fields" radio button is selected and click OK.

There you are the search object that will return you all fields and all values matching what you type (as you type it!).

Hope that helps.

Hi Paul,

It doesn't work that way. What do you actually have and where do you want to get? Take a look in the Reference Manual at the Concat() function, but I'm not sure what do you want to show.

Hi,

Just go to any empty space in your sheet (or create a new sheet), right click and select "New Sheet Object", "Search Object". The object properties dialog will show up, make sure Search in "All Fields" radio button is selected and click OK.

Now Create a straight table from the Chart option ( Right click on blank field > new sheet object > Chart > straight table) and place the table just below the search field.

Type in your keywords in the searchbox and you can see the result in the table

Hope this will work for you.

Thanks
