How to always ask for username and password on opening.

Hi,

The first time an application (qvw) is opened by QlikView Desktop, is requested login and password entered in accordance with section access.

The problem is that after the user closes the document but not the QlikView Desktop, the application is reloaded and login / password are no more requested and the application opens.

How to avoid it in Qlikview Desktop?

If there is no resource for this, there is some action (button) to close the Qlikview Desktop (not the application)?

In short, How to force username and password, every time the application is opened?

Thank you

Hi,

It is a User preference.

Try this.

Go to Help > About Qlikview and right-click the QV logo in the bottom left hand corner to bring up hidden settings.

Look for CacheLoginInfo (Integer settings) and change the value to 0 and click Set.

Hello,

I can only think of section access to achieve this.

Regards.

I did not understand. Section access works well.

The problem is when you reopen the file as described above.

Thanks anyway.

Good tip. I did not even know we had these options.

Unfortunately, it did not work.

Even so, it would be flawed, since anyone could change this option.

Thanks anyway.

Changing that User preference sets CacheLoginInfo to 0/1 in the Hidden settings, I just couldn't remember where the UI option was!

However, couldn't users get to this setting to override it?

But if you look changing CacheLoginInfo is really just changing this check box.

Yes, I was querying with Erick as he stated earlier that he needed an option which could not be changed by the users.  I don't think it is possible.
