How to determine product price for a given date

Hi,

I'm new to Qlikview and so this may be a fairly basic question, but I couldn't easily find the answer in the community resources.

I have a product price list. Every product has at least one price record and can have many. The prices are for a period of time and are determined by a price effective date and a price end date. A current price will have an end date of 12/31/9999.  Prices are available all the way back to the 1980s.

My user wants to be able to show all prices for a given date. They would choose the date and then the prices that were in effect for that date would be displayed. 

I'm guessing I need a calendar control, some variable to store the date and then some kind of expression, but I don't know where to go from here.

Hi Paul,

you could use an interval match to retrieve the correct price for any given date. Please refer to the Manual, IntervalMatch for a start.
