How to ignore selections in specific fields in a straight table ?

I am trying to use set analysis to ignore selectings within specific fields in my data within a chart straight table.  I understand how i can utilize set analysis and calculated dimensions to apply filters automatically, so I am trying to apply a similar concept to ignore selections instead.  Also, I am aware of the Detach feature, but I only want to ignore certain (not all) field selections.

For example:  Suppose I have a table:

Dim1Value
A1
B2
C3

Now suppose I have made a selection in Dim1 (say I selected value B).  If i set up a straight table with the expression Sum(Value) and dimension Dim1, i will see

an output of 1 row.

I want to be able to see all rows, since I would be ignoring the filter I made in Dim1.

Any Ideas?
