How to present x months of information in qlikview separated by month

I have a situation I would like to solve.  I am very new to Qlikview.  My scenario is that I have a customer that has x offers of product.  For this discussion, I will limit it to 2.  For each offer,  there are say 10 parameters of information that are presented.   We have many months if not years worth of information.   I have successfully created a list box result over a period of time that presents the information list answers on an offer basis.  In this case,  I have 2 columns of information,  one for each offer.

The new requirement I have is to present the information  not by offer but by month over the period of time requested.  That is

say the request is from Aug. 5 2017 to Oct 28th 2017,  I need to create a list box that has 3 columns of data that presents the x parameters of information as a total of the two offers combined.    The result I need is 3 columns of information.  One column for

Aug. 5 -31,  one for all of Sept,  and one for Oct. 1 -28th.  This is being done for comparison from month to month.  The user can specify any number of months to be collected and displayed,  so I can have any number of columns in the resultant list box.

My first question is how do I collect the information so that I have x sets of data,  one for each month.  And then how do I get all x sets of information into one  chart-->list box result.  That is how to I set things up so that I have the dimension be that x sets of data.    I know the expressions will be the parameters of information  that I displaying for each of the months worth of data.

I have successfully created variables that tell me the number of months of data between a start date and an end date.  I have also determined the number of full months between the start date and the end date.  That could be 0 if the start date month and end date month are the same or are off by 1... (Aug-Sep).  I have not been to create something to tell me the month/year of the months between the start and end date.

I am considering creating Result Sets (correct termanology?) similar to my Master Calanders where I  create the Results up from for the Full months of data for all of my months,  but that seems like it will consume a lot of data,  and I should be able to dynamically create the results for each month and not need to have all of that data stored in my qlikview app.

Any help and suggestions will be appreciated.  SInce I am using the free version of Qlikview, I don't have the ability to click on qvw examples,  so I need information in text format.

Thank You,

Arnie Bearak
