Sorry I don't know how to fix your problem.
But if you no need to fix the color, you can try change the style of object to Pyjama type. This style look like what you looking for.
One solution would be to create a table that specifies a color for each group name and then set the background color of both the dimensions and expressions to this color. Attached is an example of this.
