Importing Excel files and changes in my expresions.

I've the following problem when importing datas from Excel files.
I first import as usual some excel files, after doing all the work in configurating all the expressions and check that everything was woking fine, I had to add in one excel file a new column (dimension) which I place at the end of the set of column.

When I reload the data into QV, i found that all my expressions (formulaes) where changed automatically, it replace some fields by others, I had to check all the formulaes in tables and graphs to make it work again.

My question is: How can I avoid this to happend? As I will mabe had new column in my excel files in the future and don't want to spend hours in checking the formulaes in each QV files. Thanks in advance for your help.

This is an interesting topic. The expressions should not automatically change when you add a new column, but sometimes QlikView automatically changes the expressions when you change the name of the existing column. However, I am unsure how it determines that a column has been renamed and is not new. I assume it probably has something to do checking if a column ceases to exist between the buffer and the new reload and then comparing the values in the deletad column with the values of new columns to see if there is a match.

Does anybody else know how QlikView decides whether or not to automatically update expressions after a reload?
