Inactive Sheet Calculation (Application Hangs)

I have a quick question?

Do inactive sheets also update while filters are applied on the active sheet?

Problem: While selections are made in the active sheet the application works just fine. The moment we switch to another sheet. The application freezes and crashes.

Application Size: 30 MB

End User Machine: Core i5 with 4 Gig

Looking for any suggestions for optimization. Have used the Calculation condition for visible objects.
