Input Box using Loaded Field

Hi

I want to have an input box which prompts the user with a list of values from a dimension in the dataset.

I thought maybe the Input Box could default to the Max value of the Dimension, but then offer a drop down of the other values.

I thought I could create a variable with a formula =Dimension, but that does not seem to work.

I know I could just create a List Box, but I have spent a couple of hours trying to figure this out.

Any advice?

Thanks

Joe

Hi Enrique

Thank you for your offer of assistance.

Say I have a date dimension "Monthname" with data in the format 01-mmm-yy for each month for the last 5 years.

So I can display a list box which will show all the list values.

But can I create an Input Box with a drop down which will list the different values of "Monthname".

Thank you

Joe

Hi Mazacini,

If i understand correct, please find below the answer:

Create a variable either in edit script or variable overview by giving the value as Month(ColumnName) which would display the month.

Take a list box and add an expression Month(ColumnName) which will show all the values in the field (Jan to Dec).

Thanks,

Sai
