Is QlikView a Business Intelligence tool?

If this is true, do you then believe that QlikView is a BI tool? Does QlikView transform data into information?

Well, it is also said that QlikView is Business Discovery!

QlikView is a BI Tool (see Gartner BI Quadrants on internet) that enables you to do Business Discovery.

well, yes and no - it depends on your requirements, like the way to a goal depends on your starting_point 😉

What QlikView is or is not is, in my opinion, irrelevant - the relevant questions are

- what you need (some tool) to do

- and whether QlikView will do that

- at the total cost you're willing to spend on it.

It is a great tool for displaying data that you have somewhere and, to a certain degree, do some aggregation and manipulation of that data that one could classify as data_analysis.

So, yes, it does provide information that would otherwise be quite cumbersome to get - basically the same as other BI_tools like Crystal_reports, but Qlikview is definitely very powerful and convenient.

I hope that helps you achieve whatever you want to do with the tool you're going to buy once you've decided what it is you want to do with the tool you're going to buy...

First of all my aim to get a lot of competent knowledge within this field, so I can get a job working with and I hope a little discussion can me and others some more nuances.     

Private: I hope that some day in the future I can make an interactive animated 3D space to make a model for scenario simulation, and redistribute it.
