Hi,

No.I dont think so..

Only way is to give the time of reload through QVD Generator daily basis at a perticular time and

it  connect to database only at the time of reloading not all the time.

Thanks

You can trigger the QVD reloading task by external event (after ETL Task) on the server.

Hi,

To reflect ETL changes or refresh the qvds you need to reload the qvd generator.

Now, instead of manual reload you can have the QVD generator reload scheduled for a particular time (may be after ETL changes are over in DB side). This way you will not have to worry about the manually reloading the file (qvd generator) and the data will get refreshed automatically. Moreover the file will connect to DB only while pulling the data during reload and not all the time.

Hope this helps.

You can implement increamental load to update only newly created , updated records in QVD . it will imrove load time of application . but in this case again you need to via QVD route.

Hi Shobha,

I have shown the screen shot of Scheduling for Qvd Generator reload .

1)In first screen shot

you have to give the path of root folder means your dashboard  and also under mounted folder give the path of generator.

2)In second screen shot

You have to give schedule time for Generator as well as your production qvw means show all qvw that is under dashboard and Qvd generator.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks,

Hi ,

You can achieve it through QMC i.e. Qlikview Management Console.

Here you need to follow the below steps:

1. Create a task for the file you want to schedule.

2. Give the folder location where your qvd generator resides. Once folder path is set, you need to provide the path for qvd generator as well.

3. Once paths are set, you will see many options , few of them are:

a. Time at which reload should happen,

b. Frequency of reload i.e. when you want the file to reload (Daily, Weekly)

c. External Event i.e. if you want the reload to happen on completion of some other task.

There are some more options available in this page, but I think for your requirement, above mentioned will suffice.

I don't have access to QMC as of now, so could not provide you with an example or screenshot. Really sorry about that.

Hope this helps.
