Join Cross Table

Can we join cross table to other table ?. If so how to do it.

Hi Umesh,

I am not sure if I understand you correctly, what does prevent you from joining the resulttable from a Crosstable with another table? I'd do the crossload first and then the other table load with a preleading JOIN. Maybe you can post your example for further insight?

You have to do the CROSSTABLE first, i.e. load it as temporary table and then join this tempory table - you cannot combine the JOIN with CROSSTABLE:

tempData: CROSSTABLE (Date, Data) LOAD * FROM ....;
JOIN (OtherTable) LOAD * RESIDENT tempData;
DROP TABLE tempData;

do you mean cross joining 2 tables inside a qlikview document?

if this is what you mean then if the 2 tables do not have matching fields then the join will do a cartesion product and gives you all combinations

table1:

load f1, f2

from source table;

join(table1)

load f3, f3

from sourcetable2;
