Legend unselectable

Hi Experts,

I have stacked bar chart, where i have set the dimension limit and all other values go into 'Others'.

The issue is, i can select 'Others' in pie chart, but not in stacked bar chart.

Please suggest.

Hi Bharath,

the 'others' is automatically created via the choice of your dimension limits, no? As such, that is not selectable - except by a detour: You'd have to kind of

- replicate the selections opposed to your dimension_limits (the selections you need to make to see all the data that
does NOT fall into these limits)

- make those selections into a bookmark

- make a button with an action attached to activate that bookmark (or the individual selections, doesn't matter)

That way, you still cannot select that in your chart, but you can select the slice of data showing up as 'other' in your chart and maybe you can generate an alternative chart displaying when that button has been pressed that will show just that part of the data.

HTH

P.S.: It is cool to know that the Piechart makes this "leftover" selectable - I didn't know that and I had the same issue before. That gives me some new ideas, so thanks for that!

What is the purpose of the "Dummy" Dimension?

without the dummy dimension, the bar chart works

Thanks for the information. I didn't know that others is not selectable by default.

You cannot create a stacked bar chart with single dimension.

Hi Bharath,

with the chart_type > Barchart <, you can create one with stacked segments even with a single dimension. You need a second dimension only if you have a chart_type > combochart < (maybe because you also need to be able to display lines or sth else that a barchart doesn't have) because the combochart doesn't usually stack segments.

Best regards,
