Licensing Question

We are using the IE Plugin and User CALs to access QlikView document when they are on the internet and can connection to our server. Some of our users want to work offline (no internet connection). The IE Plugin allows a user to download the QVW, but now they need to open the document locally (on their laptop). What are the requirement to do this. We have already paid for a user CAL, do we need another license and QlikView program to run the document locally?

Thanks,

Stephen

Hi Charles,

I think you just need to

- install the Windows desktop client on each computer

- enable license lease on the server

- Connect with the desktop clients to the server (File - Open in Server)

Hope this helps,

Stefan

edit: You don't need to stay connected to the server, after connecting once you get a 30 days license lease, you could then open the document also offline.

They can not connect to the server. They are offline.

Hope you got my edit. You only need to connect once every 30 days to retrieve the license lease.

Alternatively, you could buy desktop licenses, but you don't need to if the same users also use named cals on the server.
