Limit to number of Qlikview tabs

Hi,

Request you to let me know if there is a limit from the perspective of number of tabs which we should have in a Qlikview application for optimal performance?

I have received inputs saying for better performance the tabs should not exceed 10. Although Qlikview does not restrict you into keeping more tabs however it will impact performance.

Awaiting feedback from the experts in the forum.

Thank you.

Well, There are many factors that may depend on performance of application. However, 10 sheets would be much more than enough to explain about particular business.

If your requirement is desired to get more than 10 sheets, may be need to. For example, I have 16 sheets for Ipad and Desktop version in the same application switching from one another depending on device they are.

It depends on server Ram, cores, concurrent users etc., if you have more than 20 cores never worry about performance instead Practice on getting optimized datamodeling and other factors.

Consider, All best practices can not be considered in all the cases of performance tunning.

Hi

Depends on what you mean by 'performance'. One important element of performance is that screens should refresh on a tab or selection change within a few seconds.

Usually the number of sheet objects (charts, tables, etc) that are on each tab has a bigger impact on this performance, so fewer tabs with many more objects on each tab may not be wise. On the other hand, too many tabs will also affect the user experience as they will spend too much time 'flipping tabs' and the model will be more difficult for new users.

RAM consumption of the model will depend on the size of the data tables and a space for the sheet objects. I am not aware of a large impact on RAM performance by having more or less tabs.

So it all depends.
