Loading mysql data

hi everybody,

can anybody pls explain me how to connect to mysql database.

i installed mysql nmysql odbc driver.

when i am trying to create user DSN,its asking for datasource.i dont hav any mysql file.is there any database available in mysql wch i connect to qlikview.

am attaching screen shot..

Hello Monica,

  You need to define the database to which you want to connect.

     Give any Datasource name and description.

     TCP/IP server name will be the PC on which you have mysql server installed or if its on same machine you can use localhost.

     Keep the port number same.

     Give user name and password.

     Also select the database.

i want to connect to northwind database wch mysql provide by default..

so in that case what i write in datasource name.

Hi,

     Datasource name can be anything by which you can identify which database you are connecting.

     Its user specific.

I am new to Qlikview, and I am being able to connect with MySQL database. But I don't know how to use those databses. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.........
