Locking Individual Users Bookmarks

Good Morning,

I wonder if anybody would be able to help or has perhaps met a similar issue?

I work for the NHS National Institute for Health Research, a number of our studies are funded by individual charities and companies.

Where possible we'd like to be able to share our information with these external parties relating only to studies where they have an invested interest. Where possible we'd like to enable Charity A to see the studies that have invested in but be excluded from the studies where Charities  B and C have invested in, as this is sensitive information.

Unfortunately building a bespoke application for each user is not feasible due to the number of users.

The other option is to use Qlik's report builder functionality - however though this is a reasonable approach will remove some of the utility of Qlik View.

I was wondering if it is possible to assign individual users a bespoke bookmark which is permanently locked down, forcing the users initial 'Funder' selection for example?

I'm aware that you can hide sheets and what have you from individual users using the security settings however this involves creating several unique sheets.

This may not be possible, or an alternative solution may exist, either way I'd be grateful for any information other users of the Qlik community can provide.

Kindest regards,

Gareth

We can use section access with options like charity A,charity B and all.

So that based on login only described data be seen.

Who have access to Charity A can see only A data.

Who have access to Charity B can see only B data.

Who have access to all can see all charity data.

Note: Please save as the file before adding section access code.

Hi Gareth,

Have you considered using Section Access. This can restrict the data so that Charity A users can only see their data so Charity B Users will be unable to see Charity A's data.

There is more info on section access here http://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-1853

Another option if you have publisher is to Loop & Reduce so your large app is split into separate Apps for each Charity automatically.

Hi Sasi and Albert,

Many thanks for such swift responses - this sounds exactly what we're looking for, that's really appreciated.

I'll have a dig around and see what we can achieve with this.

Kindest regards,

Gareth
