I'm using a macro to copy reports from dashboard to excel sheet. For that i need to save settings for "Local security" as Allow system Access.
but the settings are not saving. When I save and use it from desktop its working. When I'm testing it from accesspoint its Showing error.
When you test from the accesspoint, do shift+ctrl+M to see what the macro security level is.
Change it to System if needed and see if that resolves your problem.
cant save change, after choosing " give system access to module script".

already have that in place
this might be a stupid question or a very important point I missed. Does QV server need to have MS office(Excel) for me to use Macro?
Only if you are running with the client installed on the server.
When accessing through the accesspoint, the macro is running on the user's PC.
We contacted the support team and sent them a copy of file with macro we are using. They tested it in QV 10 and 11 environments. Their expert openion was that....reason for failure is, its complete VBscript and we have to use API guide they have provided in the documententation to convert it into format that is supported.
did anyone use functions defined in API to achieve this functionality?
ie copying series of objects to excel sheet
