I am trying to use a mapping table to decode user entered data into categories. If the user fails to enter any data, it needs to map to 'Unknown'. Try as I might, I cannot get any value mapped to a blank field. I have tried:
null(),unknown
'',unknown (single quotes with nothing in between)
"",unknown (double quotes with nothing in between)
,unknown (nothing in front of the comma)
Is it possible to map a blank field at all?
If the user enters at least a blanks space, the mapping table picks that up just fine.
If I load the map table as a stand alone table and do a join on this field, it works, but I would prefer to use a map table.
